– It is stated that if a legislator or MP leaves their party voluntarily and joins another party, their membership from the house can be terminated under the anti-defection law.
– If a member does not follow the whip of their party during voting on any issue in the house, their membership can also be terminated.
– However, there is no provision in it regarding actions taken by a party to leave or join a coalition.
